Puget Sound Regional Council Stormwater Parks Design Assistance
Olaunu in collaboration with AHBL assisted the Puget Sound Regional Council with the development of stormwater park concepts and design plans.

- Client: Puget Sound Regional Council
- Location: Puget Sound, Washington
- Duration: 1 year
Olaunu assisted the Puget Sound Regional Council with the development of concepts and design plans for two stormwater parks in the Puget Sound region. The design concept for this project is centered around converting vacant lots and portions of underutilized parks into multi-benefit, public-use spaces with a primary function of stormwater capture and treatment. The project includes the development of concept designs for the stormwater parks in coordination with municipalities, assistance with a public outreach process to engage the public in the design of the stormwater parks, the development of 30% design plans, performing hydrologic calculations to size the stormwater capture facilities, calculating the water quality benefit, and preparation of a Design Report including an engineer’s cost estimate, for each of the parks.
