Olaunu, a pioneering leader in sustainable innovation and environmental advocacy, is proud to announce its recognition as the recipient of the 2024 Trademarks for Humanity Award given by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). This prestigious accolade celebrates Olaunu’s commitment to providing resources and consulting services to improve water quality in the ocean and waterways as well as access to clean water while protecting the natural environment.
The award highlights the company’s efforts to protect the oceans, waterways, and coastal environments using a collaborative and sustainable approach. Olaunu works to improve water quality by managing stormwater runoff through innovative methods like stormwater capture and use and green infrastructure.
The USPTO’s Trademarks for Humanity award highlights innovators and brand owners who are using intellectual property to address environmental and climate change challenges. “Both the Trademarks for Humanity and Patents for Humanity competitions celebrate the pivotal role that intellectual property plays in meeting some of society’s greatest challenges,” said Kathi Vidal, Under Secretary of Commerce for Intellectual Property and Director of the USPTO. This is the inaugural awarding of the Trademarks for Humanity Award. Olaunu is one of four recipients of this award which highlights businesses that are finding unique and creative ways to reach underserved markets.
